Upturned lorry traps Newbridge quarry man

A man has been freed from an upturned lorry at a quarry on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The emergency services were called at 03:37 to Hillhead Quarry at Newbridge, after an 18-tonne lorry was involved in an accident.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the driver, while police and ambulance officers also attended.

The man was eventually released at about 04:40. He was taken to hospital with head and neck injuries.
