Up to 40 firefighters have been dealing with a blaze at a church in Morningside in Edinburgh.

It broke out in the roof space of the Elim Church at Holy Corner at about 19:00.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue said crews had to wear protective clothing and masks in case the building contained asbestos.

Part of Morningside Road was closed off while the fire was being put out. No-one is thought to have been injured.
