M8 fatal crash teenager named by police

A teenage driver who died after driving the wrong way along Scotland's busiest motorway then colliding with a lorry has been named.

Callum Aitken, 19, died in the crash which happened at about 01:00 on Friday on the M8 in West Lothian, about one mile east of Harthill.

The collision involved a Fiat Stilo and a large goods vehicle.

Police said they received reports the Fiat was being driven the wrong way on the M8 after joining at junction 3A.

Mr Aitken, from Bathgate, died at the scene. The 39-year-old lorry driver was not injured.
