Man's leg crushed under cement mixer lorry in Edinburgh

A man is being treated in hospital for serious leg injuries after being crushed under a cement mixer lorry in Edinburgh.

The pedestrian, who is understood to be in his 50s, was hit by the vehicle at about 12.15 on Crewe Road South.

The road was closed for two hours while police investigated the scene. Officers appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The man is being treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
