Man crushed under cement mixer lorry in Edinburgh dies

A pedestrian who has serious leg injuries after being crushed under a cement mixer lorry in Edinburgh has died.

Alan Dowling, 64, from Muirhouse View in the capital, was being treated at the Western General Hospital.

He was hit by the vehicle at about 12.15 on 5 April on Crewe Road South in the north of Edinburgh.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

Police have appealed for assistance in tracing relatives of Mr Dowling.
