Woman seriously injured after being hit by car in Edinburgh

A woman has been seriously hurt after being hit by a car in Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders Police said she was struck by a people carrier in Queensferry Road, between Clermiston and Drum brae, at about 21:35 on Monday.

She was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she remained in a serious but stable condition.

The road was closed for three hours while investigations were carried out. Police have appealed for witnesses.
