Former kids' club treasurer Margaret Harms in fraud trial in Fife

The former treasurer of a childrens' club is to stand trial charged with defrauding it of more than £24,000.

Margaret Harms, 48, is accused of embezzling £24,168 at three banks - the Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB and the Bank of Ireland - in Anstruther.

Ms Harms is said to have been treasurer of the East Neuk Kids After School Club in Anstruther at the time.

She maintained a plea of not guilty to the charge at Cupar Sheriff Court. Trial was set for 24 September.

The offence was said to have been committed between October 1st 2008 and October 4th 2010.

Ms Harms now lives in Lincolnshire.
