Cyclist seriously hurt in crash in Edinburgh

A cyclist has been seriously injured in a crash in Edinburgh.

The man was involved in a collision with a blue Peugeot 307 on Bankhead Drive on Monday at about 05:55.

The 52-year-old suffered serious pelvic and leg injuries in the incident, and is still being treated in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Sgt Kenneth Brown, of Lothian and Borders Police, has appealed for witnesses who were in the area at the time to come forward.
