Sarah Laftavi identified as the woman who died in a crash with a bus
Police have released the identity of a woman who was killed after her car was in collision with a double decker bus in Midlothian.
Dr Sarah Laftavi, from Loanhead, received serious injuries in the crash on Lasswade Road just after 19:00 on Thursday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
The crash involved Dr Laftavi's Volkswagen Passat and a Lothian Bus.
It is understood Dr Laftavi had recently begun working at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
A spokeswoman for NHS Fife said: "It is with deep sadness that we have learned of the tragic death of Sarah, who was a foundation doctor in general surgery. This was her second placement, her first being in general medicine. On behalf of NHS Fife I would like to pass on our deepest condolences to her family, friends and colleagues."
