The family of a grandmother killed in a Fife fire have paid tribute to the woman relatives and friends all called "mum".

Catherine Walkingshaw, 83, was killed in the blaze at her home in Cellardyke on Saturday.

Mrs Walkingshaw was with her husband, Archie, for 61 years.

The family said: "Mum always had a smile on her face and had a long and happy life. She raised her own family and saw her own family raise theirs."

Det Sgt Samantha Davidson, of Police Scotland, said: "Our thoughts are with Catherine Walkingshaw's husband Archie and the whole family at this difficult time.

"This has been a tragic event and while we continue to work with our fire service colleagues to determine the specific cause of the fire, I can confirm we are not investigating any suspicious circumstances.

"As with all incidents of this nature a report relating to Mrs Walkingshaw's death has been submitted to the procurator fiscal."
