Pensioner dies after being hit by car in Livingston

An 85-year-old woman has died after being hit by a reversing car in Livingston.

A Toyota Corolla was being manoeuvred out of a drive on Golf Course Road at about 15:10 on Thursday when it struck the pensioner, who was on foot.

Elizabeth Hossack, from Livingston, was pronounced dead at the scene after receiving serious injuries.

The road was closed for about five hours and police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
