Four held in organised crime raids in Edinburgh

Four people have been arrested and drugs and weapons seized in police raids on organised crime in Edinburgh.

Officers searched three properties during a two-day operation in the Scottish capital this week.

Heroin and cannabis were recovered from two addresses in Bingham Medway with two people arrested.

A 48-year-old man was charged with drug offences and a 26-year-old man was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and breach of bail.

A 38-year-old female was also reported to the procurator fiscal over drug offences.

Two other men, aged 34 and 37, were also arrested on charges of breaching bail.

Det Insp Stuart Harkness said: "Police Scotland continues to take all steps to target and disrupt those involved in Serious and Organised Crime.

"The message is clear we will target all of those involved, from the person at the top of the group right down to the group members who assist in that operation."
