Police have returned to the scene where gunshots were fired at a property on Edinburgh's Drum Brae Terrace.

Officers spent Friday night making checks and speaking to members of the public in the Corstorphine area of the city.

No-one was injured when the shots were fired at about 23:30 on 10 October.

A man in a light-coloured top and black jogging bottoms was seen in the area at the time and police are appealing for witnesses.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said there had been no developments as a result of Friday night's operation.

She said high-visibility patrols would continue to be carried out in the area, to reassure local residents and to look for witnesses.

Ch Insp Graham McInarlin said: "I would like to thank the community for their assistance and support following this incident, which is highly unusual for the area.

"Police Scotland will not tolerate such reckless and dangerous acts and we are committing significant resources into identifying those responsible and bringing them to justice."
