OAP seriously hurt after being hit by car in Edinburgh
An elderly pedestrian is in a serious condition in hospital after being knocked down by a car.
The 82-year-old man was crossing Oxgangs Road, near Fairmile House Nursery, just before 18:00 on Friday when he was hit by a Volvo S40.
The man suffered a number of injuries and was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he remains in a serious condition.
Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses.
Sgt Fraser Wood, of Police Scotland, said: "Given the time of the evening that this collision occurred, there were potentially a number of witnesses who saw what happened and can provide useful information, relevant to this investigation.
"We would urge anyone who was on Oxgangs Road at around 17:55 on Friday, and who saw what happened, to contact police immediately."
