Murder probe as man dies near pub
A murder inquiry has been launched after a 20-year-old man was killed in Clydebank in the early hours.
Scott Adams died after an incident near the Village Tavern in the Duntocher area at about 0150 BST.
Strathclyde Police said Mr Adams, from Parkhall, was found with serious injuries outside the pub .
He was taken to hospital but died a short time later. A post-mortem examination will take place but police are treating the death as murder.
Det Insp Michael Lappin said: "Our inquiries are at a very early stage and forensic officers will continue their detailed examination of the scene.
"Door to door inquiries are ongoing and extra patrols will be in the area."
Det Insp Lappin said he believed Mr Adams had been drinking in the Village Tavern earlier in the evening and had later become involved in an altercation with a man in nearby Morrison Street.
The suspect is described as a white male, of stocky build, with bushy eyebrows and was wearing blue jeans.
The officer appealed for witnesses.
