Teenage boy slashed across face

A 16-year-old boy has been left permanently disfigured after being slashed in an apparently unprovoked attack in Glasgow.

The teenager is believed to have been attacked in the Gilsochill area of Maryhill at about 2200 BST on Friday.

He was later released from the city's Western Infirmary after receiving stitches to the left side of his face.

The suspect is described as being a white male in his late teens to early 20s, with a thin build and red hair.

Det Con Raymond Sagan, of Strathclyde Police, said: "At this time we have yet to establish a motive for this seemingly unprovoked attack.

"I would appeal to anyone who saw this incident or has any information regarding the suspect to contact us."
