Fire crews save woman from blaze

A woman is recovering in hospital after being rescued by firefighters from a flat in Paisley.

Crews were called to the three-storey building in Thrushcraig Crescent at about 1830 BST on Thursday.

Firefighters found the woman inside a top-floor flat. She is being treated for severe smoke inhalation at the town's Royal Alexandra Hospital.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is being carried out by police and the fire service.
