Police have named a motorcyclist who died after he lost control, was thrown from his bike and hit a stationary bus.

Alistair Babes, from East Kilbride, died at the scene of the collision in Glasgow Road, Blantyre, on Friday.

The accident happened when he was riding his Suzuki motorbike northbound, close to a junction, about 1700 BST.

The 42-year-old, who had been a keen biker since his teens, leaves a partner of 20 years, a two-year-old son and an 18-year-old daughter.
