An investigation is under way after shots were fired at a house in Glasgow where two children were inside.

The property in Fairfield Place, Govan, was damaged during the incident, which occurred at 0320 BST on Wednesday.

Three adults and two children, aged seven and 11, were inside at the time, but no-one was injured.

Police are trying to establish a motive for the attack and have asked anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them.

Det Sgt Phil McLauchlan, of Strathclyde Police, said: "Thankfully no-one was injured during this incident, however, it was only by good fortune that the residents of the property - including two young children - were not caught up in this.

"It is still very early days in terms of potential motive, but we shall be carrying out a thorough investigation into the circumstances."
