Weapons taken in gunsmith robbery

Two men are being sought by police after weapons were stolen during a break-in at a Renfrewshire gunsmiths.

A rifle, shotgun and knife were taken from Dalgleish Gunsmiths, Montgomery Street, Eaglesham, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

One suspect is described as white, with a muscular build. The other man was also white and his face was covered with a scarf.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Det Con Gary Gallacher, from Strathclyde Police, said: "We are currently viewing CCTV and hope that this will help take the investigation forward.

"I would urge anyone who saw the two men either entering the premises or fleeing the scene to contact police.

"I am particularly keen to speak to a man who was walking his Jack Russell dog along Montgomery Street at the time of the incident. I would ask him to contact police with any information which may assist with our investigation."
