Armed man robs Glasgow bookmakers William Hill

A man carrying a firearm threatened staff at a Glasgow bookmakers before making off with cash from the till.

Strathclyde Police said the incident at William Hill in Maryhill Road, Glasgow, happened on Friday at 2125 BST.

The robber threatened two female and two male staff members with what appeared to be a firearm. After taking the cash he headed along Maryhill Road before going into Clarendon Street.

Police said the firearm was not discharged during the incident.

The staff were not injured, but left extremely shaken.

The suspect is described as 5ft 11in tall, white, aged about 30, of thin build and was wearing a grey hooded top, dark jogging bottoms and white training shoes. He also had a black scarf partially covering his face.
