Police investigating the murder of a woman at her East Renfrewshire flat have questioned 109 motorists and pedestrians a week after she died.

The body of 47-year-old Lynne Farquhar was discovered at her home in Rockmount Avenue, Barrhead, on 26 September.

Detectives said they were pleased with the response from people who had been interviewed in the area on Sunday.

Following a post-mortem examination, police said Ms Farquhar had been killed in a "violent and sustained attack".

Speaking after Sunday's operation, Det Insp Scott McMillan, of Strathclyde Police, said: "The purpose of Sunday night's operation in the area of Rockmount Avenue was to speak to anyone who may, through habit, travel the same route every week.

"I am pleased that we were able to speak to around 109 motorists and pedestrians who completed questionnaires. I fully appreciate their co-operation.

"The information gathered will be scrutinised by officers to see if there is any new information that could move this investigation forward."
