Police find £710,000 of 'speed'

Illegal drugs with an estimated street value of £710,000 have been found at a property in Renfrewshire.

Officers from Strathclyde Police, acting under warrant, raided an address in Meadowside Street, Renfrew, at about 1800 BST on Monday.

During a search of the property they found about 84kg of amphetamine sulphate, also known as speed.

No-one was arrested but police said "extensive enquiries" were under way to trace those responsible.
