Glasgow schoolboy downloaded child porn
A schoolboy has admitted downloading and distributing indecent images of children at his home in Glasgow.
Liam Douglas, 17, was caught with almost 300 photos and videos on his laptop when police raided his parents' home, near Easterhouse, in January.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard how he initially told police he was curious to compare himself to other boys as he was a late developer.
Sentence on Douglas was deferred and he was remanded in custody.
The court heard how police raided his family home after receiving a tip-off.
Prosecutor Kay Potter told the court: "When officers asked the accused if he was aware of any indecent images of children in the house he said that he was.
"The house was searched and a laptop computer was taken to Easterhouse police office for examination.
"The accused was taken to Baird Street police officer where he was interviewed under caution.
"During the course of the interview the accused indicated that he was curious to compare himself to other boys as he was a late developer."
When officers put it to Douglas that some of images discovered showed boys under 10, he replied that he was only interested in boys 13 and over.
The court heard that when the laptop was examined it was found that a total of 193 images and 89 videos had been downloaded.
Other paedophiles had also downloaded some of the images from his laptop files.
