Glasgow street attack on Chinese man 'attempted murder'

An attack on a Chinese man in Glasgow city centre is being treated as attempted murder, police have said.

The 25-year-old was walking with other Chinese men in Elmbank Street when they were subjected to "an unprovoked attack" at about 0300 BST on Tuesday.

BBC Scotland understands that the "unknown number of assailants" involved in the incident were Chinese men.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The injured man was treated for a serious head injury at the city's Western Infirmary.
