A jury has retired at the High Court in Glasgow to consider its verdict in the trial of a man accused of murdering Asian radio presenter, Nasim Jamil.

Khalid Sarwar denies killing the 54-year-old by repeatedly striking her on the head and body at her flat in the city's Byres Road last December.

The 29-year-old also denies charges of theft and of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Mrs Jamil worked as an agony aunt for Glasgow radio station, Awaz FM.

The trial before Lord Brodie has lasted one month.
