Stranraer man, 26, dies after car hits HGV near Girvan

A 26-year-old man has died after his car was in collision with a lorry on the A77 in South Ayrshire.

Ross Arthington, from Stranraer, was travelling south when his Ford Fiesta hit the northbound HGV near Lendalfoot, Girvan, at about 1800 GMT on Sunday.

He was taken to Ayr Hospital where he later died. The 41-year-old lorry driver was uninjured.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
