Police are treating the death of a four-month-old baby boy at his home in North Ayrshire as "unexplained".

Dylan Donnachie was found by his mother at their home in Irvine in the early hours of Sunday morning.

An ambulance and paramedic response unit were sent to the scene but the child could not be saved.

A post-mortem examination has since failed to establish how he died. Police said that inquiries into the boy's death would continue.
