Man, 22, found wounded in Glasgow street

A 22-year-old man is in hospital after being found in a Glasgow street with a life-threatening wound to his back.

Strathclyde Police said the man, who has not been named, was discovered by a passer-by on Ardencraig Road, Castlemilk, at 1400 BST on Saturday.

He was taken by ambulance to the city's Victoria Infirmary where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police said they were treating the attack as attempted murder and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Det Sgt Garry Millar said: "From extensive enquires carried out so far, we know that the victim had been near the woods at Cathkin Braes Country Park when this attack happened.

"I would like to ask anyone who has any information about this attack to contact us as soon as possible.

"I would also appeal to anyone who was in or around 310 Ardencraig Road on Saturday and who may have seen the man or has any information to get in touch."
