Police have named a woman and child who were killed in a road crash on the A85 near the village of Dalmally in Argyll.

Donna Marie Coyle, 25, and her 18-month-old son Noah McLeod, both from Greenock, Inverclyde, died in the crash at about 1215 BST on Wednesday.

Her daughter, aged two years and 10 months, who was also in the car, is being treated for serious injuries at Glasgow's Yorkhill children's hospital.

Ms Coyle's Fiat Punto collided with a Ford Transit low-loader vehicle.

The 52-year-old male van driver was given medical treatment at the scene but did not attend hospital.

The road was closed for about eight hours and opened after 2200 BST.

Police said inquiries were continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
