Barlinnie inmate dies at Glasgow Royal Infirmary

A prisoner who had been serving his sentence at Glasgow's Barlinnie Prison has died in hospital, the Scottish Prison Service has confirmed.

The family of 35-year-old Mark Malone have been informed about his death on Sunday at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Malone was convicted at Glasgow and Strathkelvin Sheriff Court of housebreaking and misuse of drugs on 21 February this year.

The SPS said the matter had been reported to the procurator fiscal.
