Murder charge over Christopher Devlin death in Airdrie

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 30-year-old man in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, 10 days ago.

Christopher Devlin was found bleeding in Whinhall Avenue in the town on the afternoon of Saturday 11 June.

He was taken to Monklands hospital but died later in hospital.

Joseph Docherty, 29, appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
