Two men arrested over security van raids outside banks

Two men have been arrested in connection with a spate of armed robberies on security guards outside banks in Glasgow and Lanarkshire.

The first raid happened outside the Bank of Scotland in Carmunnock Road, Glasgow, in August.

The others were during September and October at Clydesdale Bank, Bothwell, South Lanarkshire, and Airdrie Savings Bank, Muirhead, North Lanarkshire.

Strathclyde Police said two men, aged 27 and 32, had been arrested.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
