A 48-year-old woman died after being hit by an articulated lorry as she crossed a road, police have said.

The crash happened in Glasgow Road, near Station Road, in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, at about 10:40 on Thursday.

Elizabeth Neil, from Blantyre, was taken to Hairmyres Hospital where she died a short time later.
