Man held in Airdrie over £560,000 heroin haul

A man has been arrested after heroin with an estimated street value of £560,000 was found at a house in Airdrie, North Lanarkashire.

Strathclyde Police said officers acting under warrant searched a house in the town's Chapel Drive on Wednesday.

They arrested a 41-year-old man after seizing a quantity of of the Class A drug at the address.

The man, who is being held in police custody, is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Friday.
