Cupboard sex teacher Muir McCormick struck off
A married maths teacher who had sex with two pupils in a school cupboard has been struck off the register.
Muir McCormick admitted having sex with the girls, aged 16 and 17, between 2007 and 2009 at Bearsden Academy.
He was jailed for 14 months in November last year and placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
The 39-year-old has also been added to a barred list which prevents him from working with vulnerable young people and adults.
Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard last year how McCormick targeted the older girl between August 2007 and May 2008 and the other girl from December 2008 until May 2009.
The court heard that he would take his victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, separately into the cupboard in his classroom two to three times a week to carry out sexual acts.
He was caught after his first victim told her landlady about what had happened. She then told her parents and the police were called.
Police raided McCormick's house and took away computer equipment, which led them to his second victim.
McCormick has since been added to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups barred list.
