Alternative supply to parts of Ayr affected by burst water main

Scottish Water has restored supplies to parts of Ayr which were affected by a burst main.

The problem in Maybole Road had cut supplies to customers in the KA7, KA8 and KA9 post code areas or left them with low pressure and discolouration.

Engineers are still working to repair the main but Scottish Water said an alternative supply was now in place.

The utility firm said some customers may still be experiencing low pressure and discoloured water.

It apologised for the disruption and said everything possible was being done to restore normal service.
