Ward reopens at norovirus hit Royal Alexandra Hospital

A further ward has reopened at a hospital in Renfrewshire where six patients have died while receiving treatment for diarrhoea and vomiting.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said four wards remained closed at the Royal Alexandra Hospital with 13 patients still showing symptoms of norovirus.

The health board said the deaths were not caused by the bug and the patients had underlying medical conditions.

Infection control measures remain in place at the hospital in Paisley.
