Arrest over Darren Gavan death in Castlemilk

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a young father who was stabbed on a Glasgow street.

Darren Gavan, 25, was attacked as he walked with a friend in Tormusk Road, Castlemilk, on 23 May.

After what was described as an "altercation" with a group of people he suffered stab wounds and died on the way to hospital.

The 26-year-old man who has been arrested is being held in police custody.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.
