Woman, 24, indecently assaulted in Paisley

An investigation is under way after a 24-year-old woman was subjected to a "frightening" indecent assault in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

The woman was grabbed from behind and attacked while walking in the town's Forbes Place at about 20:15 on Sunday.

She did not require hospital treatment but was left badly shaken.

The suspect is described as white, Scottish, aged between 40 and 50 years old and about 5ft 5in tall with a stocky build.

At the time of the assault he was wearing dark clothing.

Det Con Gordon Gibson, of Strathclyde Police, said: "This was a very frightening attack on a young woman. Fortunately she did not require hospital treatment.

"I am particularly keen to speak to two teenagers who were seen near to Forbes Place at the time of the incident on Sunday night."

Anyone with information that may assist the inquiry is asked to contact police.
