Murder probe after Glasgow flats death

Police have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man in the Pollok area of Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to reports of a disturbance in a common close in Cornalee Place at about 22:50 on Thursday.

Two men, aged 37 and 40, were found injured at the scene. Both were taken to the Southern General Hospital, where the 37-year-old later died.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The 40-year-old man is being treated for a head injury.

Det Insp Fergus Hutcheson from Strathclyde Police said: "Officers are carrying out extensive inquiries and are currently at the scene carrying out door-to-door inquiries to establish what led to one man dying and another being injured.

"I would like to appeal to anyone who was in Cornalee Place on Thursday night around the time of the incident to contact me."
