The Helensburgh lifeboat has gone to the assistance of six people whose small boat became caught on rocks in the Firth of Clyde.

The lifeboat was launched at about 13:15 after reports that the boat was stranded at Baron's Point near Kilcreggan.

The boat was re-floated and managed to set off under its own power for James Watt dock in Greenock.

The lifeboat has remained with it to ensure it arrives safely.
