Teenager sought over sex attacks in Glasgow's Govan area

Police believe a teenager carried out two sex attacks in Govan, Glasgow.

A 25-year-old woman was touched inappropriately by a youth who tried to engage her in conversation in Skipness Drive at about 06:50 on Wednesday.

A 35-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in nearby Burghead Drive at about 22:00 on Wednesday after a young man tried to talk to her.

Both women gave similar descriptions of an Asian youth who was about 15 or 16 years old.

The suspect is the first incident is described as being 5ft 3in to 5ft 4in tall, with short dark hair in a left parting.

'Distressing experience'

He was wearing a short sleeved white England football top and dark jogging trousers.

The suspect in the second incident was 5ft 1in tall, of stocky build, with dark hair.

He was wearing a blue Polo shirt, dark jogging bottoms and trainers.

Det Con Mike McFadyen, of Strathclyde Police, said: "Thankfully neither woman was injured but it was obviously a very distressing experience for both of them.

"From how both women describe the man responsible, I believe it is the same person, and from the times it happened, he may be local to the area.

"It is also possible that he has assaulted other women in the area and I would appeal to anyone who this has happened to, or to anyone who recognises the teenager, to contact officers."
