Grants of £1.3m for vulnerable children in Renfrewshire

Grants of £1.3m have been awarded to improve services for vulnerable young people in Renfrewshire.

The charity Action for Children has been given £750,000 Big Lottery funding to work with Renfrewshire Council to provide specialised family therapy.

The council has also received £550,000 Scottish government cash to provide a specialised foster care programme.

The council said both programmes would help it tackle "challenging social problems" in the local community.
