Murder charge over death of Marie McCracken in East Kilbride

A woman has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a woman at a house in East Kilbride last week.

Marlene Torlay, 61, is accused of killing 59-year-old Mary McCracken, who was known as Marie.

Ms McCracken died after being found injured at a property in Old Coach Road last Wednesday evening.

Appearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court, Ms Torlay made no plea and was remanded in custody.

She will appear before the court again on 6 November.
