Golfer badly hurt during attack on Glasgow course

A golfer is being treated in hospital after being attacked on the fourth hole of a public course in Glasgow.

The man was assaulted by three men and a woman who had approached and argued with him at Littlehill Golf Club, Balornock, at about 20:00 on Saturday.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after members of the public saw his condition as he walked home.

The man is being treated for head and leg injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable.

Det Insp David Mackie, of Police Scotland, said: "We will be speaking to the victim to try and get more detailed descriptions of the suspects.

"At this time, we know that one had red hair, one was heavy built with brown hair and the third male was tall with brown hair. The female may have an eye injury of some sort.

"I would appeal to anyone who was on the golf course and saw this attack or saw the suspects in the area either before or after 8pm on Sunday night to come forward."
