Woman stabbed in neck in attempted murder in Glasgow

Police are treating an attack on a woman who was stabbed in the neck in Glasgow as attempted murder.

The 32-year-old was standing outside her car on Yate Road, in the city's Barrowfield area, when she was attacked shortly after 22:00 on Monday.

The woman underwent surgery at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and was later released.

There is no description of the suspect. Police are carrying out door-to-door inquiries in a bid to find her attacker and have appealed for witnesses.

Det Sgt Dianne Wilson said: "This was an extremely violent attack on a 32-year-old woman who's lucky to be alive.

"Barrowfield is a very tight-knit community, so I'm convinced someone knows who's responsible."
