Appeal over identity of woman found dead in Glasgow

Police are appealing for help in identifying a woman who was found dead near Glasgow city centre.

The woman, who is believed to be in her 20s, was found beneath a footbridge on New City Road, near the M8 at St George's Road, at 19:45 on Thursday.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

The woman is described as white, about 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, with shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes.

She was wearing black leggings, a light blouse and a denim jacket.

Police said she had distinctive ear piercings - a solid bar measuring about 4cm in her right ear and a semicircular piercing in her upper inner ear.

She was also wearing small hand-shaped earrings with a green stone on the palm.

Anyone who recognises the description of the woman is asked to contact Police Scotland.
