Antonine Primary School pupils fine after bus crash

Pupils from a Glasgow primary have continued on a school trip to Ayr after their bus crashed on the M77 motorway.

The bus was carrying 26 pupils from Antonine Primary, Drumchapel, when it crashed at about 10:00 after the driver became unwell at the wheel.

He is being treated at Hairmyers Hospital. Police said two pupils had sustained "very minor injuries".

The school party resumed its trip on a replacement bus. The crash happened near J5, south of Newton Mearns.

The spokeswoman for Glasgow City Council said: "Parents have been reassured that everyone is fine following the incident this morning and are on a replacement bus to Ayr for their day out."
