Man in hospital after being hit by bus in Sauchiehall Street

A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Glasgow.

Emergency crews were called to Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, between Newton Street and Holland Street, at 17:30.

No further information about the man or his injuries has been released.

A police spokesman said: "A male has been taken to hospital following a collision with a bus on Sauchiehall Street. A cordon has been put in place and inquiries are ongoing."

A statement from Glasgow City Council traffic department said Sauchiehall Street was closed to all traffic between the A804/Newton Street and Holland Street "due to an ongoing police incident" and advised motorists to find an alternative route.

Elmbank Street was also closed to all traffic between Bath Street and Sauchiehall Street while Holland Street was closed between Bath Street and Sauchiehall Street.
